In the heart of Lincoln Center lies a museum solely dedicated to sculpture. Its solid exterior and surrounding voids allow the visitors to feel removed from the street activity and immersed in the art and architecture. It’s key feature lies within its skylight roof. Designed to allow light in, the roof carefully filters natural light to illuminate the artwork on display. The winding staircase delays viewing of the artwork until the visitor has cleared one’s mind. The size of each gallery space varies from room to room in order to accommodate numerous types of artists and artwork. The heart of the building operates as a tranquil space within a network of an ever-moving cityscape.
